ARR — the seed-stage startup we helped build, now scaled

A creative-operations platform that helps teams archive, find, edit, and manage their visual assets. Air brought us in to lead the frontend architecture — the foundation it has scaled on ever since.

The situation

Air brought us in in early 2018, when it was a sub-ten-person team with roughly $450K in ARR, fresh off a seed round. The original product was a different bet — "unlimited video in the cloud," built on a React Native app — and the company was still searching for the model that would become its creative-operations and digital-asset-management platform.

What it didn't have was senior engineering: an early-stage codebase and no one to own the architecture decisions that would either enable the next stage of growth or quietly cap it. That's the gap they brought us in to close.

What we did

As Air's frontend architecture partner, we designed and led the architecture the product would be built on for years — and rebuilt it onto a modern Next.js stack as the company matured and pivoted into its DAM platform. The job wasn't a single rewrite; it was making architecture decisions, over six years, that held up as the product and client base grew by orders of magnitude.

Architecture that survives a pivot and years of compounding growth isn't luck — it's the senior judgment to build the right foundation early and evolve it without breaking what works.

The foundation we built is the one Air has scaled on for years — from that ~$450K seed-stage startup into a company serving thousands of clients and doing $15M in ARR today. It's the long-haul proof behind how we work: not just shipping a feature, but making the architectural decisions that let a company keep growing for years after.
